About Brooke Bodar

Brooke Bodar grew up in a small Wyoming town where a love of horses and the outdoors shaped much of her early life. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders in 2013 and found early fulfillment helping people with speech differences, but ultimately chose to explore the deeper emotional and behavioral issues influencing clients' lives. Brooke returned to school for a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling, graduating in 2016, and began practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in community mental health soon after.

Following the birth of her child in 2017, Brooke shifted some of her focus to school counseling while continuing to maintain a part-time private practice. She balances work with family life on a small property that includes her husband, a dog, and two horses, and she is pursuing certification in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Brooke values the therapeutic relationship as the core vehicle for change, emphasizing unconditional positive regard, empathy, and authenticity to help clients explore their experiences and build confidence in decision making.

She believes people possess innate resilience and wisdom, and she brings a warm, relatable presence that helps others feel heard and understood. In her free time Brooke enjoys riding horses, spending time in the mountains, and being with family and animals. She is open about her excitement to connect with people .

Therapeutic Approaches and Online Support

Brooke uses several evidence-informed approaches suited to different concerns, including client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and emotionally-focused therapy. Client-centered therapy emphasizes a warm, nonjudgmental relationship in which the therapist listens deeply and supports the client in finding their own solutions - it is often helpful for building self-esteem, processing life changes, and exploring identity.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress. It offers practical strategies and skills that clients can apply between sessions. Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) attends to attachment needs and emotional experience within relationships, which can be especially useful for couples, family concerns, and attachment-related issues.

Finding the right approach is a collaborative process. Brooke works with clients to understand their goals, preferences, and life context, and then tailors treatment using one or a combination of these methods to best support progress.

Online therapy options such as video calls, phone sessions, live chat, and text-based messaging provide flexibility for busy schedules and geographically distant clients. These formats allow licensed professionals to offer consistent, ongoing care while making it easier to fit sessions into daily life and maintain momentum between meetings.
